Servus Celebrates World FM Day

Once a year, the global facilities management community comes together to celebrate World FM Day. Celebrated on 17 May, 2017 with the theme “enabling positive experiences,” this global recognition day aims to raise the profile of the FM profession anywhere FMs influence the wellbeing of people who utilize the built environment.

FM professionals from across Trinidad & Tobago and the Caribbean region converged at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad for the 6th Caribbean Facilities Management Conference & Expo which was hosted by Trinidad & Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce Facilities Management & Maintenance Committee.  The room was packed as the esteemed lineup of speakers and presenters addressed pressing issues within the FM profession

Keynote speaker, Mr. Thomas L. Mitchell Jr. CFM, CMFJ, IFMA noted “The future looks promising based on the outcome of research findings identifying the significant value and impact of Facilities Management (FM) as a profession. FM continues to improve quality of life when people work, rest, play and pray.” Servus was proud to be a Gold sponsor at this event.

The profession of Facilities Management encompasses multiple disciplines to ensure functionality of the built environment by integrating people, place, process and technology. FM has a tremendous impact on the quality of life for billions of people around the world who work in or use public and commercial facilities. FM professionals are responsible for every aspect of building operations, from indoor air quality to security and environmental stewardship. World FM Day provides more opportunities to recognize the facility management profession and the people who practice it.
