Guardian Life of the Caribbean

Standing on #1 Guardian Drive, West-moorings is the Head Office building of Guardian Life of the Caribbean Limited, the construction of which was completed in mid 2000. The standard of construction of the building is similar to that of BPTT Queen’s Park Plaza, in that it is a modern office building fitted with the latest technological and security equipment.

The building which is designed to resemble a ship, comprises four (4) stories, a basement and a roof top terrace. Its outstanding features include:

  • An atrium to the internal courtyard and which allows natural light to enter the building; and in the event of fire four (4) vents with automatic suction fans allow smoke to rise and escape.
  • A state of the art building management system which can control the air conditioning, electrical and irrigation systems for the building and landscaped areas respectively.
  • Solar reflecting panels.
  • A security system with state of the art technology including surveillance cameras to monitor all public areas, access control software that controls all access points within the Guardian Portfolio.
  • According to measurements taken, the building has a gross external area of 82,685 square feet, and a net internal area of 62,513 square feet.
