For three grueling months, Servus staff members were on the quest to become Servus’ Biggest Loser.
Over the 12 week period, participants joined in weekly boot camp and Zumba sessions as well as wellness seminars and personalized sessions with a nutritionist. 5Ks were personal challenges that each staff member was also urged to attend. On a Thursday, participants had to face the dreaded scale. Missed weigh-ins, no weight loss and weight gain were met with stiff penalties as the “losers” kept their eyes on the prize.
With a combined 450lbs lost over the period, members were reminded that their fitness journey is a marathon not a sprint. They were urged to remain committed to leading a healthy lifestyle and encouraged to continue along this path. In the end, all penalties collected were donated to The Be Good Do Good Foundation, a non-profit organization with the mission of providing structured but fun guidance to children residing in Children’s Homes.
Servus will continue to promote employee wellness initiatives in the New Year and hopes to expand the program to cover other areas and encourage more employee participation.
