On February 10 2017, Servus Limited celebrated its 15th year of operation with an event dubbed an Evening of Cocktails. In attendance were several of Servus’ Directors, clients, service-providers and staff members, many of whom have been with the company since inception. From a company that started off with approximately 40 employees, Servus has grown to an organization of over 230 staff members and is considered to be the preferred employer within the Facilities Management industry.
Servus’ Chief Executive Officer, Edward Kacal, lauded his staff members and spoke very highly of their work ethic, dedication and professionalism. He described the team he met when he joined the company in 2013 as “a strong and deep bench of Facilities Management professionals, who take a high level of ownership in their buildings”. Mr Kacal beamed with pride as he noted that Servus does not suffer the malaise of the rest of the economy as vacancies are filled with ease and staff turnover is very low.
Using a cricketing analogy to describe his team, Edward stated that “our batting order is deep and will not collapse under pressure; we are guaranteed good innings’ all the way down to the 11th man, with many all-rounders and a few pace bowlers to boot.”
A revitalized project management department geared toward projects such as building upgrades and automation, as well as the formation of janitorial, air conditioning and landscaping divisions were just a few of Servus’ achievements over in last 2 years. The move to self-perform these services was a strategic one and is in-line with the model used by the best international FM companies.
Even in an uncertain and tough economic environment, team Servus looks to the future with cautious optimism and will continue to embody its motto of One Team, One Service.
